GSC 16 -PLEN-43 Highlight of Current Activities • Two projects are in progress in 3 GPP 2 to support interworking and IP level convergence – TIA-1163 -B: E-UTRAN – e (evolved) HRPD Connectivity and Interworking: Core Network Aspects: • Will provide interworking with to 3 GPP Rel 10 (LTE) – TIA-1163 -A already provides interworking with 3 GPP release 9 – TIA-1163 -2 already provides interworking with 3 GPP Release 8. – TIA-1164 -2: Wi. Strategic Direction GSC 16 -PLEN-43 • Close collaboration between 3 GPP 2 and both 3 GPP and Wi. MAX Forum is in place to support Interoperability and Interworking • Maintain and enhance the core network specifications (MAP, cdma 2000® Packet Data Network, e. HRPD) • Collaborate with Femto Forum and Broadband Forum, through the 3 GPP 2 relationship, on Femto specifications • Work with ITU-T – Provide ITU-T with updates to Q. 1742. 8 – Liaise with ITU-T on Femto, Cell Broadcast Identifiers, etc. • Develop new technologies and services – Green initiatives – M 2 M Support Halifax, 31 Oct – 3 Nov 2011 ICT Accessibility For All 5
