Overview of Docu. Sign at UVa Initially implemented by individual areas at the University. For example, used by School of Medicine for new hires. In 2017 an enterprise license was acquired by ITS. Its main purpose was to serve HR. As of today multiple units outside of HR utilize the enterprise license. Some of these units are Procurement within Finance, Athletics and the Batten School. Each unit utilizing Docu. Sign has delegated administrators who manage their Docu. Sign area. These administrative privileges include responsibilities such as adding users, assigning security access and managing templates.

Docu. Sign Advantages Docu. Sign has been approved by Information Security at UVa. Envelopes and Templates can be created from PDF, Word or Excel. Docu. Sign can be used in large instances as in using it to get consent forms signed by 2, 000 participants. UVA branding can be created within Docu. Sign. Everyone who signs gets a copy automatically and the creator may provide copies to others outside of the signing process.

Docu. Sign Advantages There is ability to wet ink sign during the workflow process. Workflow is very transparent. Only one doc version flows through the workflow process. This eliminates the chance of different individuals having altered copies of the signed document. Using templates would minimize the opportunity for errors. Recipient does not have to create an account. The user has the ability to create many contacts. Useful reporting tools are available. For example, a report displaying an envelopes duration within a particular area.
