doc. : IEEE 802. 15 -02/393 September 2002 Channel Modeling Sub-committee Goals for this Sub-committee: “To create a channel model for use by the IEEE 802. 15. 3 a task group to evaluate the proposed PHYs in realistic channels representative of actual deployment environments. ” Goals for this week: 1. Generate a working draft sub-committee report a. b. 2. Begin process of filling in text of the report a. b. 3. Provides an initial, coherent draft of current channel modeling approach by subcommittee Allow people to make specific comments to specific sections Path loss model i. Approve an initial baseline path loss model Multipath model i. Approve an initial baseline multipath model Develop plan for completing final report (target approval in November) a. b. Submission Plan for interim conference calls? Solicit volunteers to help fill in TBD sections 4 Intel Research and Development
doc. : IEEE 802. 15 -02/393 September 2002 Presentation of Current Draft Report Motion (to be made by Jeff Foerster): “To accept draft IEEE P 802. 15 -02/368 r 1 -SG 3 a as the current working draft report for the Channel Modeling Subcommittee. ” Second? Proposed process for changing sub-committee report: 1. 2. 3. 4. Within sub-committee, allow changes with 50% approval. Target final sub-committee report to be complete in November. During November, vote to handoff final report to task group and close subcommittee work. Note that the purpose of this report is to influence the Selection Criteria document, which is owned by the task group. After November, task group owns sub-committee report and can make changes to the sub-committee report and/or selection criteria as desired (process TBD by task group).
