— The art of connection Expertly engineered to ensure safety, usability and continuous operation Error-proof installation New busbar connection with profile screw indication Safety as standard Full IP-protection and markings for mounting guidelines Easier cabling Improved cable range and space for cabling December 3, 2020 Slide 3 Speed up installation Harmonized torque for faster and simplified installation Reliable connection Tested according to IEC 61238 -1 -1 Class A to secure qualitative connection over time. A high quality pressure part and contact grease are included to ensure a reliable connection. Easier inspection Transparent plastic for improved visibility

— IEC 61238 -1 -1 Compression and mechanical connectors for power cables Securing qualitative

— IEC 61238 -1 -1 Compression and mechanical connectors for power cables Securing qualitative connections to busbar system What? Test procedure § Clarify requirements for compression and power cables e. g. buried cables or cables installed in buildings § ABB Kabeldon test the connectors with the applicable busbar which is to be used (no uncertainty) § ABB Kabeldon’s connector range has undergone test according Class A, e. g. including short-circuit test § Compliance according to two different classes: § Class A – heat cycle and shortcircuit tests § Resistance measuring every 75 cycle, requirement is a low and stable resistance § Class B – heat cycle tests only § Standard sets requirement on mechanical pull-out force 20 k. N Remarks § Class A: Total 1000 heat cycles, after 200 cycles 6 short circuits – tests completed with finalizing remaining 800 heat cycles § For cable connectors on fusegears, requirements are not as tough as for cable connectors § Class B: Only 1000 heat cycles ABB is unique on the market with fulfillment of IEC 61238 -1 -1 for CDC solutions December 3, 2020 Slide 4
