Choose the group you would like to join: -historians -cooks -singers -specialists on family and public relations -correspondents story-tellers -drivers -actors -painters -fashion and decoration designers -
Tasks for historians: -collect the material on the history of both the characters; -make a list of books, magazines and websites used; -make two separate stories about Santa Claus and Father Frost; -compare two stories and find similar and different facts; -make a table and fill it in with the facts collected.
Tasks for cooks: -find out what dishes are traditionally cooked for Christmas dinner in Russia and in English-speaking countries -make an international cookery book; -try to cook these dishes yourselves; -organize a presentation of the dishes and choose the best one; -take pictures or draw the dishes; -give a prize to the best cook and the best author of a cookery book.
Tasks for fashion-designers: -find or draw pictures of Santa and Father Frost; -describe their costumes and analyze what is similar and what is different in their clothes; -make a table and fill it in with the information; -try to make fancy-dresses for a New Year party; -choose the best, give prizes, make pictures; -ask your parents, grandparents, teachers and friends what fancy dresses they were wearing to New Year parties and try to find out what costumes were and are popular now.
Tasks for specialists on public and family relations: -find out information about Santa’s and Father Frost’s families, friends and companions; -describe every character and find or draw their portraits; -compare them to each other and fill in the table.
Tasks for story-tellers: -remember the occasion when you met Father Frost; -write a Christmas or a New Year story; -type and print it, decorate it accordingly; -organize a competition and choose the best story, give prizes and celebrate your success.
