What is it?
Where do I get started? • Instead of one long involved process, think of your science fair project as a series of shorter steps.
What is science fair all about? Thinking like a scientist!
Where do ideas come from • • • Be Aware! – observe around you. Be curious. Be reasonable - narrow your topic Follow your interests Talk to people/teachers/professionals
Science Fair Choose a project based on… • Your interests – favorite hobby, activity or career interest. • Current events and publications – For example: concussions • Interview someone in a profession of interest or a teacher in a subject that you enjoy. • Watch Science Fiction – creativity is welcomed but it must be science based

Biology • Plant projects – vitamins and how they effect growth of plants • Daphnia – effects or road salt/ caffeine
Chemistry Projects • Experiment with natural ingredients to dye fabrics/eggs such as beets, berries, red cabbage…… • Cooking! – How does changing certain ingredients (baking soda, baking powder. . effect cookie? • Electrolysis – separating water into hydrogen and oxygen gas--- changed the concentrations of an acid
