Notes: Corporate Culture Definition- The values and behaviours that are considered as normal in an organisation. "The way things are done around here“ A strong culture is important because workers therefore know how to behave in an organisation. Weak culture leads to confusion and lack of focus. There are three ways in which corporate cultures show themselves. 1. Artifacts - The facilities, offices, furnishings, dress, and how each person visibly interacts with each other. 2. Exposed values - ideas that are often expressed within the organization. ie. company slogans and mission statements. 3. Basic Assumptions - The 'unspoken rules' that about how people relate. What you can and can’t do.
