Do not put your trust in idols or make metal images of gods for yourselves. I am the LORD your God. Leviticus 19: 4

Luke 14: 1 -6 One Sabbath day Jesus went to eat dinner in the home of a leader of the Pharisees, and the people were watching him closely. 2 There was a man there whose arms and legs were swollen. 3 Jesus asked the Pharisees

and experts in religious law, “Is it permitted in the law to heal people on the Sabbath day, or not? ” 4 When they refused to answer, Jesus touched the sick man and healed him and sent him away. 5 Then he turned to them and said,

“Which of you doesn’t work on the Sabbath? If your son or your cow falls into a pit, don’t you rush to get him out? ” 6 Again they could not answer.

Luke 11: 46 “Yes, ” said Jesus, “what sorrow also awaits you experts in religious law! For you crush people with unbearable religious demands, and you never lift a finger to ease the burden.

John 9: 2 “Rabbi, ” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins? ”

John 9: 3 “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins, ” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him.

John 9: 16 Some of the Pharisees said, “This man Jesus is not from God, for he is working on the Sabbath. ” Others said, “But how could an ordinary sinner do such miraculous signs? ” So there was a deep division of opinion among them.

John 10: 1 -5 “I tell you the truth, anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheepfold, rather than going through the gate, must surely be a thief and a robber! 2 But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.

3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice.

5 They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t know his voice. ”

6 Those who heard Jesus use this illustration didn’t understand what he meant, 7 so he explained it to them: “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who came before me were thieves and robbers. But the true sheep did not listen to them.

9 Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. 10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
