Rotary Peace Fellowships Annually up to 130 peace fellows selected Master’s Program: • Young career professionals with at least bachelors degree • Required 3 to 5 years of professional experience • Up to 50 fellowships awarded per year at one of 6 universities worldwide Professional Development Program: • Experienced professionals in peace and conflict resolution • Minimum 5 years in experience in conflict resolution • Up to 80 fellows per year at one of 2 universities ROTARY DISTRICT 5240 – A PEACEBUILDER DISTRICT 8 -2020 5
Peace Fellow Masters Program Degree Program Academic training: Learn research- based theories and approaches to peace and development. Applied Field Experience: Build practical skills through a self-designed, 2 -3 month field experience. Networking: Expand your global network of academics, peace workers, and Rotary members. Peace Fellow Certificate Program Online course: An online preliminary course that provides baseline knowledge and sets expectations for incoming fellows On-site course: A 10 -week on-site course that includes field studies Social change initiative: An independent project period during which fellows work on a social change initiative in their community or workplace. They receive interactive online sessions and mentorship. Capstone seminar: A one-week capstone seminar for fellows to reflect and report on their Positive Peace efforts and its impact. POSITIVE PEACE Defined as the attitudes, institutions, and structures that, when strengthened, lead to a more peaceful society. Positive Peace describes an optimum environment for human potential to flourish. The factors that sustain highly peaceful societies also provide a framework for robust economic development.
