This term we are going to look at recycling and why it is important. What do you think recycling is? Why is it important to recycle? Think about these questions and write an answer in your book. Remember to use full sentences. What is recycling? I don’t know, let’s find out together!
Once you have written your answers to the question on the last slide. Have a look at this video on BBC bitesize called ‘What should I do with my rubbish’. This video tells you a little bit about recycling. https: //www. bbc. co. uk/bitesize/clips/z 9 p 9 j 6 f After you have watched it, write a short sentence about what you have learnt. See if you can add anything to the sentences you have already written.

Today we are going to be starting a new area of learning in maths. We will be focusing on Weight and Mass Now some of you may understand what this means without even realising. Let’s start with looking at the vocabulary we will be using… Vocabulary ü Heavy ü Light ü Heavier than ü Lighter than ü Equal Try and remember these words as you will need them for the next task…
You are going to be holding objects and then use the vocabulary to describe them. See if you can find lots of objects, some big some small, hold them and then use the sentence stems below… The _____ is ______. Then use a sentence to compare to objects that you are holding The _____ is heavier / lighter than _____. If you have two objects that you think feel the same you can say The ____ and the ____ are equal. The bucket is light The banana is heavy. The banana is heavier than the bucket. Vocabulary ü Heavy ü Light ü Heavier than ü Lighter than ü Equal
Look at the statement below. Do you agree or disagree with what Rex Dangervest is saying? We will discuss this in more detail in tomorrow’s lesson… I think that the bigger something is, the heavier it is. Something big will always be heavier! This sunflower is so BIG. A brick is much smaller in size.
