What is discipleship? This is the transfer and outpouring of life and foundational values into someone willing to learn, effectively reproduce and also pass on. In the case of Christianity discipleship must end in a Christ like life. Matthew 28: 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
The discipleship journey begins with the salvation prayer through Jesus Christ and is geared towards intimacy with the Father through the Holy Spirit. John 10: 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 1. A life of the word of God 2. A life of Prayer 3. A life of obedience
The greatest part of being a disciple of Jesus is making more disciples. 2 Corinthians 5: 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. 1. Peer discipleship 2. Mentoring 3. Evangelistic discipleship

IMPORTANCE OF DISCIPLESHIP. 1. Effective discipleship enforces obedience to God’s commandments. 2. Discipleship ensures the growth of a believer. 3. Discipleship enhances faithfulness. 4. Discipleship builds the church. 5. Discipleship earns you a reward in heaven.
