Directions To Chicago Sailing Belmont Harbor is located about 5 miles north of downtown Chicago (between Belmont and Addison streets). It is one of the most picturesque harbors in Chicago, and there are plenty of restaurants and pubs located nearby for after sailing drinks / dinner. Directions From Downtown: Red Line Addison Station Pedestrian Tunnel Train: (10 minute walk from Addison Station) Parking $7. 00 Take the Red Line to Addison Station. Walk east on Addison Street until you get to Lake Shore Drive, take the pedestrian tunnel under Lake Shore Drive (tunnel is located just north of Addison Street). Walk south along the bike/jogging path until you will see a parking toll-booth ahead of you. Walk past the parking toll-booth and you will see the Harbor Masters building (a tan brick building on your right). Keep walking until you get to the “B” dock and wait at the gate. Driving: (10 minute drive from downtown) North SEE NEXT PAGE Take Lake Shore Drive north. Exit on Recreation Drive, which is one exit past Belmont Avenue. Turn Right off the exit. Continue along this road to the parking toll-booth (parking is $7. 00 on the weekends, free during the weekday). About 100 yards past the parking toll-booth you will see the Harbor Masters building (a tan brick building on your right), park anywhere near there. Go to the “B” dock and wait at the gate.
Chicago Sailing Docks Go to the “B Dock” and ask someone on the dock to let you in the gate. You’ll see a houseboat on the right-hand side. Go to the houseboat and ask to sign waiver forms (only necessary once a season). Past the houseboat, there are big, white bins that contain life jackets. Please find a life jacket that fits you.
