So what is a direct object? (DO) The noun or pronoun that receives the action of the verb The subject does the verb to the DO The DO will come after the verb S + V + DO Not every verb has a DO
How to find the DO in a sentence Find the verb and the subject Read the sentence up to the verb Then ask “what? ” or “whom? ”
