What is it? Direct Objects: Receive the action of the verb in sentence Ex. In English= I have the book -> I have it. Answer the questions : Whom? OR What? Take the place of the nouns they are representing I see my friend-> I see her.

The Steps Decide the appropriate object pronoun- Make sure it agrees in number and gender When an infinitive follows the conjugated verb, the D. O. can be placed before the conjugated verb OR attached to the infinitive 1. The D. O. is placed directly before the conjugated verb. Ex: Veo a la profesora La Veo 2. The D. O. is attached to the infinitive Ex: Voy a comprar el libro Voy a comprarlo

Indirect Object Pronouns What are they? I. O. Pronouns take the place of Indirect Object nouns which are: Nouns that answer: To whom? & For Whom? - These questions apply to the verb Ex: Rosa gives her a ticket for her trip = Rosa le da un boleto para su viaje These can be used to replace the indirect object nouns, but they Do Not Have To Replace Them!
How is it done? The Pronouns Me Te -> Me Nos ->Us -> You (Familiar) Le ->You (Formal); fgdfgdfgsdfgdfg. Him; Her Les ->You; Them ¿Tus padres TE dan un coche nuevo a ti? Your parents are giving a car to you? La madre les da el coche. The mother gives them the car.
How is it done? Steps: Determine what the Indirect Object Noun you are going to replace is Find the corresponding Indirect Object Pronoun Remember: The I. O. Prounouns for Yo, Tú, and Nosotros are the same as Direct Object Pronouns (Me, Te, Nos) Replace according to the following rules:
Finally: In the case of only one verb, (Conjugated), the pronoun is placed before the verb. Ex: Le voy a vender mi coche a Sara. When an infinitive follows the conjugated verb, (Double Verb), the pronoun can be attached to the infinitive Ex: Voy a venderle mi coche a Sara.

Now, what do I do about Double Object Pronouns? • • It is not very difficult! Occurs when you see a sentence like : La camarera nos dio el caldo a Juan y a mí. (The waitress gave the broth to Juan and I. )
Just Remember: Indirect before Direct! • Find the D. O. Pronoun and I. O. Pronoun as usual, then: • In a sentence with both of the object pronouns, place the indirect object pronoun first. • P. S. In a negative sentence, the negative word comes directly before the first pronoun.
What about. . . ? The Placement in relation to the rest of the sentence. • As with a singular object pronoun, there are two places you can put these double pronouns.
2 Ways (Technically 3. . . ) 1. ) With only one verb (Conjugated), the pronouns are always in front of the verb. Ex: Ella me lo da para el domingo. (Ella da un libro a mí) 2. ) When a conjugated verb with an infinitive OR 3. ) When there is a conjugated verb in the – ando/iendo form (Present Progressive). . You can place the pronouns before the conjugated verb, or attach them to the second verb.
2 Ways (Cont. ) • Example Me los vas a pedir Do not OR Forget: When Vas a pedírmelos Me los estás pidiendo OR attaching pronouns, add an accent to Estás pidiéndomelos vowel the stressed
One Last Note • When placing the pronouns, If you find that both prounouns start with the letter “L”, change the indirect object to “Se” Ex: Le pedí la cuenta al camarero. Le la pedí. Se la pedí.
