Direct object pronouns in ENGLISH: IT & THEM

We use them in place of a direct object. I want the shirt. I want it. A direct object is the thing that receives the action of the verb. What do I want? The shirt.

In SPANISH there are 4 direct object pronouns. LO LA = IT LOS LAS = THEM

We use the d. o. p. in place of a direct object. In SPANISH it has to agree in number & gender (masculine, feminine, singular, & plural).

Like this… Yo quiero la camiseta. Yo quiero los jeans. Yo la quiero. Yo los quiero.

In SPANISH the direct object pronoun goes before the conjugated verb! Yo quiero la camiseta. Yo la quiero.

OR attached to the end of an infinitive verb (if there is one in the sentence)! Yo quiero comprar la camiseta. Yo quiero comprarla.

Los consejeros prefieren beber el café. WRITE IT BOTH WAYS!!! Los consejeros lo prefieren beber. Los consejeros prefieren beberlo.

Yo necesito buscar un regalo. WRITE IT BOTH WAYS!!! Yo lo necesito buscar. Yo necesito buscarlo.

Ellos no quieren comprar las camisas. WRITE IT BOTH WAYS!!! Ellos no las quieren comprar. Ellos no quieren comprarlas.
