DC Shop - Overview l Sabre’s “Highest Level of Connectivity” l Direct Connect Shop displays rates that are applicable at time of the initial Availability request, providing information as immediate and accurate as a call to a hotel reservation number. l Direct Connect Shop’s up-to-the minute rates and availability status offers a higher level of confidence as rooms are booked…reducing customer service issues.
DC Shop - Overview l Direct Connect Shop Request Message works like this: – Sabre’s database is checked to qualify hotels based on geographic location and amenities. – A list of qualified property numbers is built. – An availability request message is sent to each Associate’s Central Reservation System that: l l Participates in DC Shop And has properties that qualify – Up to 10 property ID’s are included in each request message. l Configurable by chain – Minimum 5 - Maximum 10 – Request message is chain specific. l 1 chain per message – Sabre will apply viewership controls as it does today.
DC Shop - Overview l Direct Connect Shop Response Message works like this: – Response message will contain ‘available’ rate range or specific rate for all open properties or a “CLOSED” / ‘CLOSED’ Alternate Property Available indicator. l No *PROPERTY ON RQST* allowed. – Responses must comply with Sabre’s existing rules for rate change over stay. l The highest nightly rate for stay must be returned or a rate range that reflects the highest rate the traveler will pay during the stay. – Response time not to exceed 10 seconds.
DC Shop - Overview l The response appears on the Hotel Availability screen along with a ‘new’ connectivity indicator, the Cross of Lorraine (‡). The indicator appears prior to the two-letter chain code and on both sides of the rate range. l To view only DC Shop participants, the ‡ qualifier can be included, the same way qualifiers are used today. Example: HOTDFW/8 JUL-2 NT 1/‡
DC Shop - Overview l When a specific rate is displayed using DC Shop, the rate can be booked directly from the HOT, reducing the number of entries necessary to make a booking. l Defined Viewership will continue to be managed by Sabre: – Providing the same security as today – As long as the Rate Code is attached to the Rate Level the rates do not have to be loaded in the Sabre Database to utilize Defined Viewership
DC Shop – Features l DC Shop Indicator present at Hotel Availability (HOT) l Rate Range in HOT direct from Hotel CRS l Specific Rate available at HOT l Alternate Availability indicated at HOT
DC Shop - Benefits l Eliminates rate discrepancy between HOT and HOD – Non DC Shop rate ranges come from the Sabre Database which is only as accurate as the last update – DC Shop rate ranges come from Hotel CRS at time of request l Increases user confidence in rates displayed – Rates displayed in HOD match those seen in the HOT – Status of property never in question since the status comes from the Hotel CRS at time of request
DC Shop - Benefits l Improves usability within Online Channels – Status from Hotel CRS is always current avoiding ‘Open’ properties returning as ‘Not Available’ when selected from availability display – Alternate Availability feature can be managed by Online Channels increasing exposure for properties l Non DC Shop participants using Alternate Availability appear as ‘Not Available’ at HOD
DC Shop - Benefits l Reduces number of rate update messages – Property must contain only one rate type, RAC, to be available in Sabre. l l Sabre does not query the rates in Sabre for DC Shop participants DC Shop utilizes rates direct from the Hotel’s CRS. – Negotiated/Contracted rates do not have to be loaded in the Sabre Database. l l A Rate Code attached to a Rate Level will provide the same Defined Viewership security as today - without the rates. Lowers cost associated with update messages.
DC Shop - Benefits l Reduces number of availability status messages – DC Shop participants can elect to not status properties in Sabre l l l DC Shop does not use the status within the Sabre Database when establishing request message to the Hotel Associate participating in DC Shop Status within Sabre is only used as a ‘back-up’ when requests time-out or systems are down (minimum exposure) Lowers cost associated with status updates
