S. would loan other countries money, then expect some control over that country • Dollar diplomacy was not that successful, many countries resented U. S. influence

Woodrow Wilson’s Moral Diplomacy Would seek trading partners around the world while avoiding getting politically involved. Wanted people to start liking the U. S. again.
