Causes of Vata imbalance ► Suppression of natural urges ► Prolonged exposure to loud music / sounds / electronic media ► Excessive: ► thinking; sadness; concentration; meditation; isolation ► exposure to the sun / cold and windy conditions Accidents, obstruction of marma points; blood letting Excessive travel (trains, planes, cars, horse riding etc)
Symptoms of Vata imbalance ► Hyperactivity, palpitations, involuntary muscle movement, cramps, excessive talking, walking ► Miscarriage, infertility, irregular periods ► Bloating, fluid retention, stomach noises, dryness of throat, constipation, runny nose, tinnitus ► Fatigue, poor circulation, chills, dizziness, weak legs, feeling suffocated, lack of libido

Treatment of Pitta imbalance ► Consumption of foods with opposing qualities to pitta ► Drinking medicated ghee and cold potency herbs ► Purgation therapy (triphala or dhatri) ► Pleasant company of friends, small children, family ► Cooling, non-competitve activities (walking in moonlight, cool breeze)
