Melting point: 124 – 127 °C Boiling point: Decomposes Flash point: Non-flammable Solubility in water: Decomposes Storage temperature: 2 – 8 °C Use: Reducing agent, deoxygenating agent, dehydrating reagent, It can also cyclize 2 -aminoalcohols to aziridines and to convert α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acids to α, β-unsaturated bromides *most stable of the diphosphorous tetrahalides.
