OBJECTIVE Given a physical description of a dinosaur, you will be able to correctly identify a picture with 100% accuracy. Given facts about each dinosaur, the students will be able to fill in missing words (from a word bank) of a description of the history and lifestyle of each dinosaur with 100% accuracy.

TYRANNOSAURUS REX The T-Rex was about 15 feet tall and 40 feet long. That’s bigger than a school bus! They were one of the largest land meat-eating animals of all time. They have an S-curve neck and walked on their 2 hind legs. They also had very small forelimbs compared to the rest of its body. The T-Rex also had a large tail.

ALLOSAURUS The Allosaurus had short strong necks and a deep narrow body. They had 2 bony horns in front of its eyes which were widely spaced. It had strong, but short arms and each foot had 3 toes. The Allosaurus had a relatively small skull.

TRICERATOPS The Triceratops had 2 large horns on the top of their skull and another horn on the tip of its beak. Behind the back 2 horns was a frill that acted as a shield to the head. It had 4 stumpy feet and was a slower land animal.

STEGOSAURUS The Stegosaurus was generally 30 feet long and about 15 feet high. They had large shield shaped plates coming out of its back. The Stegosaurus is a very large animal with a high arched back.

PTERODACTYL The Pterodactyl was a winged lizard. The wings were attached to the very long forth finger on each of its arms. The wings could reach up to 40 feet long.
