Home Sweet Home – This is a picture of a sign that’s at the driveway of my family ranch where I grew up. Living on a ranch I was taught numerous life skills that at the time I hadn’t realized I was even learning. It wasn’t until I came to college until I really noticed how much this had shaped me compared to others whom hadn’t had the same opportunities growing up on a ranch. Being in those different situations where I learned how to be responsible, how to be a hard worker, problem solving skills, persistence, patience, independence, etc, . Growing up here contributed to whom I am today and will continue to as I move further into my adult life.

Student Teaching – This is a picture of my preschool class last fall. Student teaching was really the first time in my educational experience where I was able to put things I had learned into practice. I had done shorter experiences but this was the first time being in a classroom for a long amount of time. I grew as a teacher in countless ways. This experience was challenging yet extremely rewarding. It challenged me in a lot of ways and pushed me outside of my comfort zone which became a huge learning experience for me. I grew in professionalism, confidence, and as an overall teacher which I will carry with me as I continue forward.

Family is Forever – This is a picture of an angel that represents my aunt. My aunt whom was also my godmother passed away in 2009 due to cancer. When we lost her it made me realize how important family is along with the legacy that you leave behind. I have 34 first cousins, my mom has 6 siblings and my dad has 4, even though we are a very big family we are extremely close. Through this event it taught me how important it is to cherish family, and the impact of loosing someone so close. It doesn’t matter where you are its who you are with.
