Do you have access to internet outside of campus? The survey rendered internet accessibility to be predominantly positive with most having access to the internet outside the Vega Campus( 90%) , however 10% sadly did not. The lack of accessibility could be due to multiple factors ranging from insufficient funds, geographical location and the signal in that area, or the idea that is unnecessary to have if it is available at campus. What device do you use the most to connect to the internet? Cellphones, being the most convenient and easiest portable were the dominant device used (70%), while 22. 5% used PC and 2. 5% used other means of devices to connect to the internet. Cellphone PC Other

At what age did you start using the internet? The age in which one started utilising the internet has a direct link to their level of skills when using the internet, as we can make the assumption that the earlier you are introduced to it , the more time you have to get to know the platform and eventually master it. Most people in the survey started using the internet in their teen years , which has given them sufficient amounts of time to become familiar with it. While 3% were exposed to the online world as toddlers and 20% as children – they will be much more advance and their skills will be well developed unlike the 10% who only started making use of the internet in their adult years. Did your Primary/High school provide you with digital education studies? As the world has become more active online, there is a recognised need for digital education. Those who had this available in their schooling years would be taught how the internet works as well as how to use it, this gives these individuals an advantage and will ultimately affect their level of skills in a positive manner. What would you rate your skills regarding using the internet? The previous questions in the survey provided reasoning to the results of the level of skills the individuals had. Those who were introduced to the internet at a young age or were educated on the matter during their schooling careers will be good at using the internet. Whilst those who were introduced at a later age of their life as well as had no digital education would range between average to poor skills when using the internet. Good Poor Average
