Nutritionists need to be experts in food and food sciences, along with the anatomy of the human body, physiology and the biochemistry. Nutritionists advise people (their patients) on what they should be eating to achieve a goal or just maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Career Path Dietitians and Nutritionists need to complete a Bachelor of Arts program in food and nutrition, dietetics, food service systems management or another area of study related to nutrition. Most programs are comprised of courses that focus on biochemistry, biology, chemistry, foods, institution management, microbiology, nutrition and physiology. A full year of work study in a real world environment needs to be completed (sometimes more than 1 year). Once the license has been obtained look for requirements that the state you are currently working in needs for you to begin work (if any).
