Index An index is in the back of some books. It is set up like a dictionary. The index tells what page something can be found on in the book.
BIBLIOGRAPHY Ø Lists all references used by the author in writing the book. Ø Alphabetical list by last name of author Ø Different styles: most used is the MLA style (Cherry Creek Schools) APA at the University level.
ABC Order To use a dictionary, you must know how ABC order works. Words in the dictionary are arranged in ABC order! All of the “a” words are first, then the “b” words, next the “c” words…. . Get it!
Guide Words Guide words are words at the top of a dictionary page that tell you what the first and last word on that page are. The words on the page will be between the guide words in ABC order. Guide words are there to help you find the word you are looking for faster!
