2019 Prom DHS’s Junior-Senior Prom will be held on April 26, 2019 at the Georgia Aquarium Oceans Ballroom Tickets are on sale for $100 until September 30, 2018 Tickets General Sale is October 1 – December 31, 2018 for $115 Final Sale of tickets is January 1, 2019 – February 28, 2019 for $130 Tickets will be issued on Friday, April 26, 2019

Grambling State University College Tour and Football Game There will be a college tour trip to Grambling State University in Louisiana on September 22, 2018 The cost is $100 Cost includes: transportation, lunch, t-shirt, campus/dorm tours, gift bag, Eddie Robinson Museum tour, football game day ticket (Grambling vs. Alabama State)

Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVB) DHS counseling department will administer the ASVB exam on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 9 am-12 pm Students interested in military careers or to gain insight into career possibilities are encouraged to sign up 10 th-12 th grade students are able to sign up in the counseling office Only 65 slots are available

Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT) The PSAT will be held on October 10 th All Sophomores are registered to take this exam which is paid by the state Freshmen and Juniors interested in taking the exam can do so by registering with Dr. Powell and paying a fee of $16 Registration will end on September 28 th The PSAT is an excellent means of preparing Juniors for the SAT exam and provides the opportunity to obtain National Merit and other scholarships
