Some things to consider n n n n What happens to a liquid that is left exposed to air? Should you try to dry the flask between measurements? Is it OK to use a different balance if the one you started with is in use? Should you tare the flask and stopper? Why or Why not? How are you going to demonstrate that density is an intensive property? How many measurements of the unknown are you going to make? How will you measure the unknown? Go to the lab website and watch the short videos: Using the Electronic Balance for Mass Measurements Proper Use of the Volumetric Pipette Proper lab techniques are graded

Other notes: Procedure design approval process Sign (and print) names on procedure design Calculations • You must summarize how you will treat your data • Each group member must sign and print name on Proposal • Procedure proposals must be turned in at the end of pre-lab for scoring. You will receive them back in lab to complete if necessary. Note that the Coke and Diet Coke are de-gassed (flat) and contain a small amount of sodium azide, a neurotoxin (to prevent mold growth)—do not drink! (duh) Take only the amount you need, please! Reminders: Pre. Lab attendance, proper clothing for lab
