Example of a descriptive paragraph On a sun filled warm summer morning, I woke up to the sun shining through my blue window curtains and brightening my room. Streaks of sunshine pouring through made me feel ready for the day ahead. I rubbed my tired eyes and stretched cracking my entire body like a bag of popcorn ready to get out of my comfy warm bed. As I put my feet down the cold wood floor sent shivers up my spine. I put on my pink soft robe along with my cozy slippers and headed out to the kitchen. The smell of bacon and pancakes filled the air as I walked in. I see our dining table set with shiny white china plates, sparkly silverware, and a dainty centerpiece of red roses. Hung above the table is a colorful sign with the words “Happy Birthday” in a bold vibrant yellow. I am filled with excitement as I remembered it was my sister's 13 th birthday and all my family was coming in to celebrate the big day.
