To discuss people in Spanish, you will often use subject pronouns. When you want to describe a person or explain who he or she is, use the verb ser.
Singular Plural ser- to be 1 st yo 2 nd tú vosotros(as) él, ella, usted ellos, ellas, ustedes 3 rd I am soy you eres are he, she, you es formal, it is nosotros(as) we are somos you are sois they sonare
When Alma introduces Francisco to Arturo, she uses a subject pronoun with ser. Subject Pronoun verb: ser -Él es mi vecino. -He is my neighbor.
Francisco uses other examples. verb: ser -Nosotros somos de muchos lugares. Subject Pronoun -We are from many places.
If Alma were to say that someone is a neighbor, she would say: Él es un vecino. However, if she were to say that someone is a policeman, she would say: Él es policia. The word un or una does not appear before a profession.
nosotros somos Nosotros somos estudiantes.
Sofía es Sofia es estudiante.
la señora Lear es La señora Lear es maestra.
Rebecca y yo somos Nosotras somos amigas.
Eva, Mike y Sofía son Eva, Mike y Sofia son amigos.
