Application Requirements l l U 1, U 2 or U 3 3. 0 CGPA l l 2. 7 to 3. 0 CGPA l l l Minimum requirement to be eligible for an exchange program application may be considered on case by case basis extenuating circumstances only in consultation with exchange partners No guarantee of a nomination nor acceptance A higher CGPA may be required to be a competitive applicant for the more popular exchange destinations You must be registered full-time at the time of application
Application Process l On-Line application goes live on November 4, 2016 l How to apply in Minerva l Deadline to submit on-line exchange application is: January 15, 2017 Statement of Purpose List of courses. This list is required to help you be aware of what type of courses are potentially offered at the host school. It is not your final selection. Application non-refundable fee of $150. This charge must be paid before next year registration begins to avoid registration holds. l l Submit supporting documents to the SESA Office when required.
School Selection l l Demand is high and spaces are limited (4 to 8 spots/ partner school/ year) Application permits 4 choices l l l Must be in order of preference You must be willing to go to any of the choices submitted in the application Students who are not nominated to any of their 4 choices will be given alternative options
Research l It is your responsibility to research key information about your host school: l Country, City, School Course offerings in your specialization and/or electives Number of courses required for 15 Mc. Gill credits Add/Drop deadlines Start/End term dates OSD support Campus & residence location Language of Study Proximity to Temple, Chapel, Synagogue l Dietary restrictions l l l l

Nomination Process l Direct Bilateral Schools(Management): l Decisions are based on: l l l Available spaces CGPA Program requirements Statement of Purpose You will hear about your nomination about one month after the application deadline
Nomination Process l Bilateral Schools (General): l Nominations are based on a Lottery System: l l l Decisions are made by the central Exchange Office in Enrolment Services You are in competition with students from other faculties You will hear about your nomination four to six weeks after application deadline
Nomination Process l If you apply for both University Wide and Management Faculty schools, we will tend to give you Management Faculty Schools.
If you do not get any of your 4 choices: l We will contact you to ask you: l l l If you want to apply to the Bilateral Schools still available If you want to go the lottery to apply for General Partners If you applied to General Schools only, you will be given other General School options § Note: it may be too late to be considered for our Direct Bilateral Schools if none of the General Schools offered interest you.

Exchange Course Approval Process l Step 1 l l l View current and past equivalency decisions l To submit new requests Step 2 l l Visit the Mc. Gill Course Equivalency System to: Fill out the Transfer Credit Assessment Form in Minerva with the database approved courses and notify the BCom Office studentexchange. mgmt@mcgill. ca Step 3 l BCom Exchange Adviser will approve the course selection in Minerva. The course approval process will then be complete.
Exchange Course Approval Process l l l If you wish to add new courses, steps 1 to 3 must be followed every time Courses approved as equivalent in the database may not be worth 3 Mc. Gill credits It is important to have declared the appropriate specialization(s).
Transfer Credit Policy A maximum number of credits from outside Mc. Gill may be granted (Exchange, Study Away, IUTs): l l 12 Mc. Gill credits for your major 6 Mc. Gill credits for your concentration or minor § l l l Exception: IB Concentration 9 Mc. Gill credits for management core No limit for elective credits 6 Mc. Gill credits of topics courses towards any specialization (includes courses taken at Mc. Gill and other institutions)
Transfer Credit Policy l l Maximum 15 credits per term can be transferred back to Mc. Gill Number of host institution’s courses required for 15 Mc. Gill credits: l l Different for each school Depends on their full-time load for the term l Examples: § § § l 30 ECTS= 15 Mc. Gill credits 60 CATS= 15 Mc. Gill credits 48 Units= 15 Mc. Gill Overload not permitted
Important: l l l Cannot select Exchange courses as pass/fail Ensure you meet your course pre-requisites CPA program: verify course requirements with the specific order Minor courses should be approved by Mc. Gill minor adviser Request to Cancel Exchange Term Form
