Technology Luminaires with Dellux embedded LED chain management control, have extended operational life, and are the most energy efficient luminaires, when compared against all other options. Luminaire LED chains are individually controlled by a microcontroller which; a) Varies & alternates the numbers of activated LED chains needed to maintain the designed lighting levels, and a) Equalizes the time each chain is used. 16

Technology Complex & higher performance LED degradation is compensated by controlling the number of LEDs turned On while maintaining the LED current constant during the whole luminaire lifetime. At start-of-life, a certain numbers of LEDs are turned On in order to reach the designed luminosity level; the number of LEDs On is then gradually increased, therefore maintaining a constant luminosity “Lr”. A further LED usage rotation mechanism ensures that, on average, all LEDs in the luminaire are turned On for the same duration. The essential advantage of this method is that at the end of service life, all LEDs will in fact have been On for an average duration “Ton” lower than “Tlife”, since at any given time during the luminaire lifetime only a portion of the available LEDs are turned On. Therefore, LED Lumen Maintenance decreases slower than in a luminaire where all LEDs are always On. 20
