OBJECTIVES Students will be able to: - Find analyse the information on the Internet - Be aware of deforestation and its bad effects to human and animals. - Find out some solutions to address this issue.
INTRODUCTION - Trees are the lungs of the Earth, however they are damaged. - Deforestation which has bad impacts on environment continutes at an alarming rate. - There are some facts about deforestation will be shocking to us.
INTRODUCTION (CONT. ) 1. What is deforestation? What are shocking facts about it? 2. What are the bad effects of deforestation? 3. What are the solutions to this issue?
TASKS The following types of tasks will be used in this projects: v Research: You will do some research about deforestation on the Internet. v Design: You will design an informative presentation and speak in front of the class v Reflection: Student will do reflection individually after presenting in front of class
PROCESS In general: - Students will work in groups of three. There are three groups. - Each group will be assigned to do research on specific aspect of deforestation on the Internet. - Each group will present their information to the class in an attractive and informative way.
PROCESS (GROUP 1) You will be researching recent firgures for deforestation. You need to answer the following questions: 1. What is the definition of deforestation? 1. What are shocking facts of deforestation? 2. What do these facts imply? Bear in mind that: 1. You need to focus on shocking figures, not all the data. 2. You need make these figures more vivid to audience. Tables & charts may be necessary.

EVALUATION Presentation: You will present your information in an attractive and informative way. Your presentation will be graded according to a rubric. CONCLUSION Each student will need to write a reflection after completing the presentations. Your reflection should answer the following questions: 1. What do you learn about deforestation which is one of the hottest issue nowadays? 2. What will you do when knowing the urgency of preventing deforestation? Reflections will be submitted to the class blog and all students will be able to see what your thoughts are.
