INTRODUCTION All human interactions are considered as negotiations. In everyday situations, we seek approval, recognition, or affection. We seek to gain the right to make actions ourselves. We also use negotiations to obtain money or other tangible values! So what is Negotiation?

NEGOTIATION DEFINITION There are many definitions for Negotiation. They differ in the situations they were made for, but they all share the same idea. Negotiation: It is the process of influencing others in order to get what we want.

Both sides always win in these negotiations. OSTENSIBLE NEGOTIATION: This kind of negotiation uses power over tactics, it uses tricks and chisels. Intimidation and threats are often used, and usually one side wins and the other loses.

HUMANS AND NEGOTIATIONS Negotiation is a skill or art for humans. It’s not something that you can study it’s rules. Negotiation is complex, mainly because it happens between humans! Negotiations are affected by human psychological and sociological principles and interactions. Practicing to improve interactions will improve negotiation effectiveness. We naturally want everything to make sense!

THE PERSONAL NATURE OF NEGOTIATION � The heat of negotiation may be said to be the heart of the individuals involved. What is commonly referred to as the heart is usually what makes negotiation feel difficult. It is not uncommon for people to believe that they negotiate effectively on behalf of others while not donning so well for themselves, why the difference? We may say the heart or, More appropriately, the ego is the difference.

Contrary to popular statements that everything is negotiable it is not! If you said, Yes then recognize that negotiation requires a minimum of two people and that your counterpart is likely to hold some things to be nonnegotiable.
