Triple Strip Drill Start Line Explanation: 3 on 1 Tackle with TO! Drill: Triple Strip Drill Technique: 1. Tacklers start drill. 3 rd comes next. 2. 1 st tackler secures tackle. 3. 2 nd pull elbow up and out. 4. 3 rd strips and recovers the ball. End: Move in groups of 3. 2 -on-1 Strip Drill Explanation: 2 player tackle and strip process. Drill: 2 on 1 Tackle & Strip Technique: 1 st tackler spreads chest as in other turn over drills. 1. 1 st player secures the tackle. 2. 2 nd player strips the ball and recovers the ball. 3. 1 st player does what ever it takes to keep the offensive player away from the ball. Bag Shuffle Scoop & Score Explanation: Foot work, quickness and recovering a fumble. Drill: Bag Shuffle Scoop & Score Technique: Run over the bags and recovery the fumble. 1. Is it a country fumble or a city fumble. 2. Players must keep wide base with low pad level. Note: Return ball to coach on the outside. Hustle back to the end of the line. Sideline Fumble Explanation: Keeping the ball in bounce for a teammate with a fumble. Drill: Sideline Fumble Technique: Keep ball in bounds. 1. Use outside arm to strike and swipe the ball in bounds. 2. It yours, ours or no bodies. 3. 2 nd player must settle body and secure ball. Don’t let momentum overcome you. Grill Spill 2 1 Explanation: 2 nd player working the fumble. Drill: TO Tuesday 1. Football rest’s on top of the wobble. 2. 1 st Player knocks wobble over and ball off. 3. 2 nd player recovers the football. 4. Ball can come off anywhere. Ride & Strip Drill Explanation: Forcing TO from trail position Drill: Ride & Strip Drill 1. On whistle offense starts at 50% speed. 2. Defense will follow and secure tackle with arm and spread the chest. 3. 2 nd arm will force fumble. Rip, Pull & Chop! 4. Pull arm past elbow! 5. 2 nd man will recovery fumble. (City of Country) 6. Defender must yell FUMBLE!!! Point of Emphases: Spread the chest w/the opposite arm. End: Rotate in groups of two in each line. Note: Drill can also be done where 1 st man will recover fumble. Front Punch Drill Explanation: Forcing TO from front position Drill: Front Punch Drill 1. Break Down and run your feet! 2. Secure tackle and punch ball out! 3. Hard fist and punch through the meat of the ball! 4. 3 Lines one for the force, 2 for the recovery of the chosen side of the offensive back. Point of Emphases: Hard fist and punch through the ball! Alternate Scoop & Score Drill 2 Explanation: Recovering a country/City Fumble in open space Drill: Alternate scoop/score drill 1. Coach will toss ball (1) and then toss ball for 2 nd line (2) 2. Defender will wait to hand ball to coach on same side 3. Defender will alternate lines after coaches has new ball Point of Emphases: Get low and secure ball with two hands. Hustle though coach! Fumble Control Drill Explanation: Recovering city fumble with hands and correct base. Drill: 2 -3 Lines with alternation 1. Form 2 -3 lines with players. 2. Catch the ball with your body 3. Clench and close over the ball Point of Emphases: Get low and secure ball with two hands. Base wide and outside of the ball. End: Go to back of the line at the conclusion of the drill.
