What is the SOJ? Rural citizens want a return to the days prior to 1964, when each county was represented by one State Senator. Currently eleven Northern rural counties are share one Senator while Los Angeles County has 11. Jefferson is demanding restored representation and an end to the dilution of vote. It’s as simple as that. THE FEDERAL MODEL OF GOVERNMENT The Federal model is where each State has 2 Senators and a number of Representatives equal to the population

What this is NOT about… Jefferson is not trying to “secede” or leave the United States Jefferson is not anti government. We support effective government that is responsive and subservient to The People Jefferson is not anti environment. The People of Jefferson support good stewardship of our natural resources.

Aggregating these Declarations and sending them to the California Legislature for action Receive a positive vote from the legislature then the issue moves on to the US Congress or Receive a negative vote from the legislature then this goes directly to the courts on the basis of a lack of representation If the US Congress passes the issue, Jefferson becomes a state; otherwise, the issue heads to the courts on the basis of a lack of representation where our efforts will focus on overturning Reynolds vs. Sims and a host of other court decisions that eroded the federalist system of representation Provided our state formation has been successful, a constitution for the State of Jefferson will be drafted then Committees of Reconciliation will be formed to separate the assets from California to be incorporated into the

Successful examples of state separation Vermont was admitted as a new state in 1791 after the legislature of New York consented in 1790. New York's claim that Vermont was legally a part of New York remains a matter of disagreement. King George III ruled in 1764 that it was. Kentucky was a part of Virginia until it was admitted as a new state in 1792 with the consent of the legislature of Virginia. Maine was a part of Massachusetts until it was admitted as a new state in 1820 after the legislature of Massachusetts consented in 1819. West Virginia was a part of Virginia until it was admitted as a new state in 1863.
