Abiotic Factors • Average temperature is 50 degrees Fahrenheit • Average rainfall per year ranges from 30 to 60 inches a year • The latitude ranges from 23 degrees north to 38 degrees south • It is made up of rolling hills.

Abiotic Factors • It has four seasons spring, summer, autumn and winter • Mild Summers 70 degrees June – August • Cool Winters Just below freezing start in December • The soil is very fertile

Biotic Factors • The leafy trees shed leaves every year due to lack of water reserves. • Evergreens keep their leaves during the winter because their leaves are smaller which looses less water.

Biotic Factors • Broad leafed deciduous trees and some of the evergreen trees make up the forest. • Such as the ash, oak, lime, beech, birch, and northern arrow wood. • Wildflowers such as oxlip, bluebells, painted trillium, and primrose.

Adaptations • The animals adapt to the weather by hibernating during winter. • Other three seasons they live off the land. • They try the plants for food. • They use trees for shelter water supply and sometimes food. • They have camouflage that looks like the ground.

Adaptations • Plants adapt by leaning toward the sun and soaking up the nutrients in the ground.

• The insects and herbivores live off the vegetation. • The herbivores provide food for the carnivores.

Human Interactions • A lot of deciduous forests lost land due to farms and towns. • Although people try protecting the forest others are poaching the animals. • Animals loose homes when people build their houses. • They want the land because it is fertile.
