December NHS Meeting

Induction • NHS Induction is Tuesday, December 13 at 6 PM. • Come out and support the new inductees! • Cake and other refreshments will be provided following the ceremony.

Tutoring Hours • 5 hours are due by Thursday, December 15 th • Remember to have them signed off by a PVHS teacher that you are tutoring for. • If you have more than five hours completed, you can also turn them all in to get ahead for next semester.

Senior Scholarships • You will need to submit THREE recommendations (NHS adviser, principal, and a third faculty member) so do not wait until the last minute! • You have to remain in good standing by maintaining GPA and doing service hours. • Applications have OPENED and the deadline is February 1, 2017. • Semifinalists through finalists can earn from $2, 325 to $4, 500 and national winner earns $20, 125! • Visit www. nhs. us/scholarship for more info. • See Mrs. Cortés for instructions if necessary.

Ocean Palms Service Project • Sign up for dates on the calendar to participate if you are cleared. If you are not cleared you could risk probation. • The sessions will be every (Monday and Wednesday? ? I forget) from (times). • For those who could not make it to today’s meeting, the calendar will be posted outside of Mrs. Popp’s room (635). • Remember, this is a mandatory project.
