• What is DECA? – DECA is a student organization that focuses on the following: • Career Development – Focus is on business related careers but assists with all future endeavors – DECA partners with a variety of companies to offer students scholarships, internships, & awards. • Leadership Development – Attend leadership workshops – Pursue leadership positions at school & state level • Travel – In-State & Out-of-State travel opportunities – This Year’s Hot Spots: Greensboro, NC & Orlando, FL

Judging Assistance • We have 44 judges signed up to-date & will need about 130. • Signup at: http: //goo. gl/Sy. BM 7 l • 1, 200 Participations at MCEC • 150 AK students register • 15 AK Judges
Looking for: 15 volunteers to judge 3: 00 PM – 6: 00 PM & 2 -3 parents to ride the bus 2: 30 PM – 9: 00 PM
State Conference • Last year we took 98 students – 7: 1 Adult to Student ratio – 14 Chaperones • 7 Marketing teachers • 7 Parents • We take 100 students – 15 chaperones • 3 Marketing teachers • 12 Parents (student automatically attends) • Find volunteers or limit participation
Chaperone Expenses • 2014 Expenses – Hotel Room – Registration – Food & Travel • 2015 Expenses – Hotel & Registration will be covered by school – Food & Travel
Overnight Expectations • Behaviors That Result in Immediate Removal – Students are not allowed to leave the hotel/mall property in Greensboro – Absolutely no water activities – Any use of illegal substances – At no time may young men and women be in each others' rooms. – Failure to attend any scheduled activity • Opening/Closing Ceremonies & Role Plays Curfew violations
