Dear Third Grade Families, Welcome to third grade! My name is Mrs. Traversone and I will be your child’s teacher! We have an exciting year ahead that will be filled with lots to explore, experience, and learn! I hope to be a guide and mentor to your child this year as they embark on a journey filled with excitement, challenges, and many learning opportunities. This year, we will work as a team to build a classroom community of positive, cooperative and accepting learners. We will learn to support each other and develop our own personal goals. I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us! As some of you may know, this September my husband I will be welcoming our new daughter into our family. As a new mom, I will be taking some time to become adjusted to this role and can’t wait to meet parents and students this February. Please join me in welcoming ____ to the classroom. ______is well prepared to introduce the students to our curriculum and routines during the first half of the school year. We both expect the transition to go very smoothly. During this time, _____ and I will communicate all classroom and student progress. In February, I will share more about my teaching style and progress we are making. Feel free to take a look at my classroom webpage, which can be accessed via the Warnsdorfer website to learn more about our first grade classroom. I would like to thank you in advance for your enthusiasm and support! Together, we will foster caring, intelligent, and happy students who genuinely love to learn! Sincerely, Mrs. Jennifer Traversone (Jennifer. traversone@ebnet. org)

Here are the directions if you wish to get started. Writer’s Workshop Notebook Homework Grade 3 Please decorate your marble notebook. You may use pictures, stickers, words, etc. Design a cover that you love, to show your personality. This is meant to inspire students in their writing by remembering some of their favorite things! Covering your notebook in clear contact paper or clear mailing tape will help keep your artwork beautiful! You must have a label on the front that clearly shows: Name Writer’s Workshop Grade 3
