Your Exercise Equality in Sports, Emilia Carrasco (10 years old) I’ve been a BMX racing (Bicycle Motocross) competitor since I was 5 years old. I have always trained with boys and girls, it’s only that we, girls, have always been a minority. One of the things I would like to do is to be able to compete against boys; unfortunately, that is not allowed in Chile. One time, the Federation told me that boys could get upset if a girl beat them, and that it was for my sake, because they could take sides against me or the girls…, although in other countries there already exists a mixed category. We, as boys and girls, feel equally strong and capable, but some adults do not think the same and they make differences that do not exist for us. Retrieved from La Tercera.
