This means he uses what he knows about life to understand the things that he sees. When grandma sent Juno a flower and a picture of a cat, he knew ◦ that she had gotten a new cat and had grown the flowers in her garden. ◦ Why did Juno’s grandmother have to change the name of her cat? How did Juno know this? ◦ What did the airplane mean? How did Juno know this? ◦ Why did Grandma send colored pencils? How did Juno know this?
