— DDA 200 • • • February 5, 2022 Slide 3 The DDA Residual Current Blocks DDA 200 facilitates the customers to assemble the product with S 200 MCBs in order to combine the protection against indirect contacts, offered by a standard RCCBs, with the protection against short circuit and overloads. This flexibility is an added advantage for the ones who desire to maintain the stock level at a minimum, providing a solution for wide range of applications with a handful of RCD blocks. DDA block are mechanically manufactured to prevent an ill coupling between the block and the breaker: in fact, the rating of the block should always be greater or equal than the rating of the MCB. The side plastic clamp permits a quicker assembly of the block on the MCBs, then a button preserves it from possible disconnections.

— DDA 200 B Type • B type RCDs in addition to alternating current and pulsating current with DC components are also sensitive to continuous earth fault currents. • B type RCDs suit all cases where it is possible to have smooth direct earth fault currents or high harmonic distortion, and type A devices are not able to guarantee the adequate level of protection. • The DDA 200 B type is compliant to International Standard IEC 62423 ed. 2 that specifying the additional requirements for type B RCDs. • DDA 200 type B can be coupled with all the S 200 series MCBs. They are used for protection in installations with electronic equipments according to EN 50178. February 5, 2022 Slide 12
— DDA 200 B Type Product at a glance The DDA 200 type B with rated current between 40 and 63 A are equipped with two terminals for remote tripping of the associated MCB. Tripping can be performed by pressing a NO (Normally Open) switch. Test pushbutton to verify the correct functioning of the device. Information on the device are laser printed to make them clearly visible and long lasting. The green LED indicates that the RCD type B is working regularly. If the green LED switched off, it means that the device is working as a type F. Then, the detection of the alternating sinusoidal currents and pulsating unidirectional currents is ensured and single phase inverter high frequency current (type F). Green LED ON: RCDs functioning like type B Green LED OFF: RCDs functioning like type F February 5, 2022 Slide 13 Laser-marked order code on the front to make easier future orders.
— DDA 200 B type Applications • Three-phase AC/DC Converters where, in absence of double insulation, insulation defects or earth faults can occur in the DC part of the circuit (downstream the rectifier). These devices can be found in: charge-batteries, machine tools, elevators for high buildings, motors for railway applications, cranes, welding machines. • Three-phase Frequency Converters where the earth fault current can have very high frequency components or elevated harmonic distortion. • Three-phase UPS where, in absence of double insulation, insulation defects or earth faults can occur in the DC part of the circuit (downstream the rectifier). The most typical applications are: hospitals, telecommunication installations, data processing centers, alarm and safety systems, machine tools. • Electro-medical devices where AC/DC converters inside the instruments are often used (X-ray generators, magnetic resonance. . ). • Photovoltaic installations where a dangerous situation that can occur in the case of internal insulation defects between inverter DC and AC is that a component of DC voltage could pass through the network. In the case of earth fault currents or indirect contact on the network (AC side), type A (sensitive to alternating and/or pulsating current with DC component) or type AC (sensitive only to alternating current) RCDs are not able to detect the DC fault current. • EV charging stations where chargers on the electrical vehicles contain rectifier and other not linear components that can generate leakage currents containing DC components. — DDA 200 B type Applications Advantage of RCD B type: It protects against any DC fault and does not require any DC limitation by EV on board charger (appropriate also for “unknown” vehicles), low risk of unwanted tripping. Disadvantage of RCD B type: The RCD upstream of the installation (if any) must also be an RCD of B type. February 5, 2022 Slide 15

— DDA 200 F Type • Type F RCDs offer the same range of protection and functionality as an RCD Type A APR; this means that they detect sinusoidal AC currents as well as pulsating DC currents. • In addition to this, they are also tested according to IEC/EN 62423 which foresees the application of a simulated multifrequency residual current with appropriate coefficient associated to the each level of frequency up to 1 k. Hz. • The intervention characteristic has a short-time delayed which prevents unwanted tripping in case pulsed leakage currents of up to ten milliseconds occur at activation of filters. • The RCDs Type F have a surge current withstand capacity of more than 3 k. A and can accept superimposed smooth DC residual currents of up to 10 m. A without affecting their standard functionality February 5, 2022 Slide 17
