Ford Elementary Overview q Ford Elementary is a K-5 school located in Acworth, Georgia in Cobb County. We are a School of Excellence with a long history of environmental education. q We are a state STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) certified and Advanc. Ed certified school.

Achievement Gap q. An 8 point achievement gap exists between White (82%) and African American (74%) students in grades 3 -5 in reading. An 11 point achievement gap exists between White (82%) and Latino/a (71%) students in grades 3 -5 in reading. q. An 5 point achievement gap exists between Latino/a (86%) and White (82%) students in grades 3 -5 in math. A 9 point achievement gap exists between Latino/a (86%) and African American (77%) students in grades 3 -5 in math.
Ford Elementary Strengths �Our 3 rd – 5 th grade students continue to show higher performance scores than 3 rd – 5 th graders across the county and state on all sections of the CRCT. �Looking at CRCT scores over 3 years, our school has increased the number of students performing at and above proficiency for grades 3 -5 in each content section. �The achievement gap between White and African American and Latino/s students has decreased over 3 years. A reverse achievement gap exists between White students and Latino/a students in the mathematics content area.
Ford Elementary Areas of Improvement q. Although our 5 th grade math at and above proficiency scores improved from 99% to 100% over 3 years, the percentage of students performing above proficient levels within race subgroups decreased. Increase the percentage of 5 th grade African American students performing above proficiency in mathematics. q. English Language Arts shows the smallest percentage of 5 th grade students performing above proficiency. Increase the percentage of 5 th grade students (66%) performing above proficiency in English Language Arts.
