Dark. Water Compression Software • Reduces a 190 Megabyte image by up to 10, 000 times whilst it still remains visually acceptable (see next slide). • Reduces vastly the amount of storage required. Up to 10 times less storage required using JPEG to enhanced JPEG compression. Up to 100 times less storage required for larger images. Up to 100 times less storage COST. No LOSS of quality. • Reduces Transmission Time – to maximise available bandwidth, even if it is a scarce resource.

Water compression would remove transmission time over a 9. 6 K modem to 16 seconds (from several hours) and to 1. 6 seconds on a 56 K modem, from over an hour.

Dark. Water Compression Technology • Dark. Water compression due to it’s high compression rates and yet visually lossless results can be used to reduce medical images in size. • Dark. Water can reduce medical images by up to 2, 700 times (270, 000%) whilst still leaving them visually acceptable, or by up to 1, 000 times (100, 000%) leaving them visually lossless. • Heavily reduces the storage space and the bandwidth required to quickly send these often life saving medical images.
