DANIEL 8 RAM GOAT FUTURE

DANIEL 8: 1 -9 “In the third year of the reign of Belshazzar the king a vision appeared to me, Daniel, subsequent to the one which appeared to me previously. I saw a ram with two horns, one longer than the other. I saw the ram butting westward, northward, and southward, and no other beast could stand before him. While I was observing I saw a goat coming from the west with a big horn between his eyes. He rushed at the ram and hurled him to the ground and there was no one to rescue the ram. The goat magnified himself and his big horn was broken off and four horns grew to take it’s place. One of the four horns grew exceedingly great. ”

DANIEL 8: 20 -27 “The ram which you saw with the two horns represents the kings of Media and Persia. And the shaggy goat represents the kingdom of Greece and the large horn that is between his eyes is the first king. And the four horns that replace the big horn that is broken off represent the four kingdoms which will arise from his nation, although not with his power. And in the latter period of their rule, when the transgressors have run their course, a king will arise, insolent and skilled in deception. His power will be mighty, but not by his own power… and he will destroy mighty men and the holy people… He will even oppose the Prince of princes, but he will be broken…. Then I Daniel was exhausted and became sick. But I got up and carried on the king’s business. ”

QUESITON #1: WHEN DOES DANIEL CHAPTER EIGHT TAKE PLACE? “In the third year of the reign of Belshazzar the king a vision appeared to me, Daniel, subsequent to the one that appeared to me previously. ” (Daniel 8: 1)

QUESTION #2: WHERE WAS DANIEL AT THIS TIME? (He was in Babylon but in his vision he saw himself in Susa) “And I looked in the vision, and it came about while I was looking, that I was in the citadel of Susa, which is in the province of Elam. . . and I myself was standing by the Ulai Canal. ” (Daniel 8: 2)

QUESTION #3: WHAT DID DANIEL SEE IN HIS VISION? (Daniel 8: 3 -9) 1. A very powerful ram with 2 horns (8: 3, 4) 2. A more powerful, very speedy goat with one big horn, (8: 5) 3. The goat destroys the ram (8: 6, 7) 4. In the process, the goats big horn is broken off (8: 8) 5. In place of the big horn, 4 others grow and take it’s place (8: 8) 6. One of the 4 horns eventually becomes very powerful (8: 9)

QUESTION #4: WHAT DID THE LITTLE HORN DO? (8: 9 -14; 23 -26) 1. Grew to be exceedingly great (8: 9) 2. Trampled strong enemies (8: 10) 3. Made himself equal to God (8: 11) 4. Desecrated the temple of God (8: 11, 13) 5. Trampled over the people of God, Israel (8: 13) 6. Acted with deceit and opposed God (8: 12, 25)

QUESTION #5: HOW LONG WOULD THIS DESTRUCTION BY THE LITTLE HORN LAST? “Then I heard a voice ask, ‘How long will the vision about the regular sacrifice apply and the holy place and the host be trampled? ” And he said to me, “For 2300 evenings and mornings, then the holy place will be restored. ” (Daniel 8: 13, 14) [2300 evenings and mornings = 1150 days! A little over 3 years]

QUESTION #6: WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN? GREECE PERSIA (Daniel 8: 20 -22) “The ram which you saw with the two horns represents the kings of Media and Persia.
