Daily Schedule Playground Rules In order to have an enjoyable recess each student signs a playground pledge that encourages them to do what is right and safe on the play ground. It goes over where to play and how to play. If a student is not keeping the pledge then I ask them to remember the pledge, or take some time to think about it before playing again. Cafeteria Rules The cafeteria is a very busy place and often times a very noisy place. The cafeteria rules are to ensure that the cafeteria remains a pleasant place to eat lunch. Cafeteria rules are as follows: 1. Sit while eating and stay seated until told to line up. 2. Eat your food only, sharing is not allowed. 3. Follow the directions of the aides the first time and always treat them with respect. 4. Raise your hand if you need assistance or you need to leave the cafeteria. 5. Use a quiet voice when talking with the people at your table. 6. No food is allowed out of the cafeteria. I will be eating lunch at 12: 00 this year. This will probably be too long to go without a morning snack. If you would like to send in a snack for your child please feel free to do so. I also have a time for an afternoon snack. Please remember that the school does not provide snacks. 9: 00 9: 15 9: 30 10: 35 11: 30 12: 00 12: 40 1: 20 2: 30 3: 40 WGES/Morning work Morning Meeting Language Arts Specials Language Arts Lunch Restroom break/Recess Math Content Dismissal Specials Schedule 10: 35 – 11: 20 Monday - Library Tuesday – P. Visitors & Volunteers All visitors are welcome to the classroom. It is important that before coming to the classroom report to the main office. Please understand that this School Board policy is in place for the protection of the students. Once you have signed in and obtained a visitor’s pass, please come down to the classroom. If you are interested in being a classroom volunteer please let me know or send in a note and I will set up a scheduled time that you can help out in the classroom. Agenda & Monday Envelope Agendas are issued to each student and are a wonderful way for us to communicate. I use the agendas to record homework assignments and any important information that needs to be sent home. I ask that you check and sign the agenda everyday. I will check and initial the agenda each day. Monday envelopes go home each Monday, or first day of the week if Monday is a holiday. They will have graded papers, letters from the office, and important flyers of up coming events at the school. Please be sure to look through the envelope, sign it, kept the contents, and return it the following day. Homework It is important to develop good study habits at a young age. Homework is not usually new work, but is practice or extension of what was covered in class. The students will assume increasing responsibility for homework as the year progresses. I will start off the year with a small amount of homework and then work to the Stafford County required time by the end of the year. Guidelines for Homework in Stafford County 4 th - Approximately 20 minutes of written work three to four times a week. 1/21/2022 Grading Scale & Report Card Schedule The grading scale for Fourth Grade is below: 4 = exceeds standards 3 = meets standards 2 = working toward standards 1 = performing below standards Report Cards will go out at the end of each nine -week period. Conferences are held at the first ( and third if needed) grading period. Attendance If your child is going to be absent, please send in a note either before or after the absence. All absences that do not have a note are considered unexcused. If your child is tardy (after 9: 00 a. m. ) please sign them in at the office so they can get a tardy slip. Please remember to let us know if there is a change in the way your child will get home from school. Send in a note or give a call to the office. The Code of Conduct is a very important document. It covers the important issues here in Stafford County Public Schools. On page three you will find the Acknowledgement of Receipt document. Please sign and return this page as soon as possible. I go over this booklet at school, but it is important that you take time to review all of this information with your child to prevent any misunderstanding. One of the most important rules in the Code of Conduct is that no weapons of any kind are allowed at school, not even toy weapons. Any violation of this rule is very seriously, so it is important to discuss this and all the other rules and regulations in the Code of Conduct. Classroom Rules I, as a class, come up with the language of our classroom rules, but basically they are: 1. Listen. 2. Treat everyone respectfully 3. Use an inside voice. 4. Do your best. 5. Be responsible When a rule is broken, a warning is given. There are no consequences for a warning. After the first warning there is a time out, if it’s ineffective then I will call or write a note in the agenda. If for some reason the student continues to be unresponsive they may be removed from the classroom. **Students that are a threat to others or to themselves will be removed from the classroom and the parent/guardian will be notified. ** I, also, have a “I Can Manage My Behavior” card in the classroom to help keep track of positive behavior until the end of the day. If they still have their card at the end of the day they will receive a punch on their behavior card that can be cashed in at a later date. As a positive reward system I work as a class to earn points. These points are collected on a “special class space sheet” (a grid system). When I fill in a class space sheet I plan a group classroom activity to celebrate our success. These space sheets have been very successful in the past and it helps the students to learn how to work as a team. I are sure that you will hear all about them.
