CYPRUS GEOGRAPHY Cyprus is an island in the Eastern Basin of the Mediterranean Sea. Today is a full member of the European Union. Ø ØNeighboring countries are Greece , Turkish, Syria , Lebanon, Israel and Egypt ØThe Cyprus has a Mediterranean climate with main characteristics the hot summer and mild winter.

Flora - Fauna Cyprus island is the most rich in forests in Mediterranean. Also the species of plants , individual animals and birds are many and rich.

Flora (plants and trees) ØA kind of plant is the Cyclamen chosen as the national flower of Cyprus. ØAlso “xrisovalanidia” is the national tree of Cyprus. A separate tree that gives our freshness and beauty.

Fauna ( animals and birds) Important is to mention the largest wild animal that is the moufflon, which all meet in Cyprus only. Ø ØIt is an endemic bird of Cyprus. It is gray and black. They feed mainly on insects and spiders. Frequents dense scrublands, from seaside up mountain.
