How does all of this support learners to realise the four purposes?

Computation is the foundation for our digital world. Forces and energy provide a foundation for understanding our universe. Being curious and searching for answers is essential to understanding and predicting phenomena. Statements of What Matters Matter and the way it behaves defines our universe and shapes our lives. Design thinking and engineering offer technical and creative ways to meet society’s needs and wants. The world around us is full of living things which depend on each other for survival

False-traditional subject domains are found throughout the statements of what matters The statement of what matters about being curious and searching for answers should be contextualised throughout the whole area. True A thematic approach should be used to teach science and technology False- no one pedagogical approach is advocated, it is anticipated that a range of approaches, (both disciplinary and multidisciplinary) are adopted DCF is housed within the science and technology Area of Learning False- DCF is a cross curricular responsibility Schools will need to address all 6 of the statements of what matters within a learning activity. False Descriptions of learning provide guidance on how learners should progress within each statement of what matters. True The numeracy framework contains guidance to support the collection, representation and interpretation of data True When considering scientific inquiry, the national framework for numeracy gives additional detail to support curriculum planning on these aspects of learning. A curriculum must embed the mandatory cross-curricular skills and the integral skills which underpin the four purposes of the curriculum. True
