CVUSD Student District Advisory Council (SDAC) 1
Goals of SDAC • Implement a district-wide system where student voice is heard with actions that support positive student outcomes. (LCAP Goal #1) • To create a diverse student community that is welcoming and inclusive where everyone is safe, respected and valued. (LCAP Goal #4) • Through this diverse student community, provide communication and targeted outreach that informs the BOE of opportunities that support positive student outcomes. (LCAP Goal #3) 2
Work to date • Researched model programs across the state • CVUSD High School site visits to meet with students. • Students inform site administration if interested • High School Director and site administration met to discuss selection criteria in order to have a diverse group of student representatives. • Follow-up meeting with student representatives to plan for initial meeting in May 3
Opportunities for Students: • Student reps meet quarterly with Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent and Director to discuss: -Policies -Strategic Planning -Equity -Community & Events • Student reps meet periodically with their Principals to: -Work on inclusive activities -Plan school wide movements and change. -Plan school wide reading activities 4
