CLASS A UNIFORM C 1. Wear the Class A Uniform to standard.
CLASS A UNIFORM OBJECTIVES DESIRED OUTCOME (Followership) 90% of Cadets will understand when the Class A Uniform is appropriate for wear, will be able to wear it properly, and describe the standards for each of the parts of the uniform. Plan of Action: 1. Wear the Class A Uniform to standard. Essential Question: What are the standards for wearing the Class A Uniform properly? What are all the parts to it?
Class A Uniform • Known as Black Service Uniform or Class A • Worn mainly by Cadet officers & color guard members Ø Authorized for all Cadets if funding available CR 1 -8, Chapter 3 Unisex, with alternatives for females Crease on pants below pockets Full color CACC Patch on left sleeve, ½ inch below the shoulder seam • Brigade or unit patch may be worn on right sleeve, ½ inch below the shoulder seam • No crease on coat sleeves • •
Female Alternatives Females may elect to wear • The issued trousers, or purchased female slacks or skirt (of the same material as unisex trousers) • A female (Army style) blouse: tuck-in or overblouse • Female neck tab • Pumps with ½”-3” heels
Headgear • May wear garrison cap, red or black beret (when authorized) Garrison Cap Service Cap Berets • If no other cap is available, wear the CACC baseball-style cap • Cadet Field Grade Officers (C/MAJ thru C/COL) may wear service cap
Rank Insignia • Shoulder marks worn on epaulets • Metal insignia (rank & DUI) may be worn on epaulets in lieu of shoulder marks • CR 1 -8, Chapter 9
Collar & Lapel Insignia • CAL insignia v Highly shined v Centered 5/8” above notch on both collars • CACC Collar Insignia v Highly shined v On lapels, 1 -1/4” below CAL insignia
Nameplate & Ribbons Unit awards • Above right pocket flap • Centered Black nameplate • Last name • On right pocket flap just below seam • Centered Ribbons • Worn in correct order • Darker color to wearer’s right • Rows 3 - or 4 -ribbons wide (all the same) w/fewer on top row • No space between rows
Honor Bars, Medals & Qualification Badges • Honor Bars → 1/8” above ribbons o In order of precedence (Ref: CR 1 -1) • Medals → upper left pocket flap o In order of precedence (Ref: CR 1 -1) • Max → 8 medals or qualification badges • Don’t wear ribbon/medal for same award → One or the other • Qualification badges → lower precedence than medals • See CR 1 -8, Ch 10
