This week… • Day 1 – PE with Joe Wicks. • Day 2 – Handwriting - Spellings. • Day 3 – Curriculum – Animals & Habitats. • Day 4 – Art – Penguin Drawing. • Day 5 – Music – Practising and performing.
Day 1 PE
Day 1 – PE – Warm up Before we start our dance lesson it is important to stretch our body. 1. Stand tall with your hands by your side. Slowly stretch your hands up above your head. Next try to slowly stand on your tip-toes. How high can you reach? Slowly put your feet on the floor and lower your arms.
Day 1 – PE – Warm up • 2. Carefully curl yourself up into a ball. Slowly begin to uncurl your arms and then your body until you are standing tall. • 3. Put your hands on your hips and slowly twist to one side then the other, repeat this 5 times on each side. • 4. Put your arms in front of you and slowly turn your wrists one way then the other. Repeat 5 times each way.
Day 1 – PE Today we are going to look at Joe Wicks PE. We looked closely at Joe Wicks when we were learning about Inspirational People. Today I would like you to join in on one of his PE lessons.

Keep Fit at Home • Try to do some exercises and stretches every day. • You could practice some of Joe‘s exercises each day. • Could your family do the exercises with you?
Day 2 Handwriting
Day 2 – Spellings & Handwriting Practice your spellings as often as you can by writing them neatly in your learning books. You should have a list of Year 1 and Year 2 words. These have been sent home. We have included the list in this home learning.
Day 2 – Spellings & Handwriting • Practice a few spellings each day. You do not need to do them all each day. • Choose 10 for this week. • If you know all the spellings, try writing a sentence with one of the words in and check you have spelt it correctly.

Day 2 – Spellings & Handwriting • Write down 10 spellings in your learning book that you want to learn. • Practice reading them. • Ask someone in your house to test you. You can write them down on a different page. • Remember to check which ones you got right and which ones you need to practice more.

Day 3 – Animals and Habitats In our curriculum we are learning about animals and their habitats. Do you know what a habitat is?

Day 3 – Animals and Habitats • Today we are going to look at one animal and their habitat. • We are going to look at a penguin. • Where do you think a penguin lives? • Why do you think a penguin lives there?

Day 4 – Art – Penguin Today we are going to draw our own penguin. Can you draw a picture of a penguin following these instructions in your home learning books.

Day 5 Music
Day 5 – Music. Can you remember what rhythm means? Can you remember what pulse means?
Day 5 – Music. Rhythm means a repeated pattern of sound. Pulse means a steady beat.

Day 5 – Music. • Now we can start to learn the words. • The song is called The circle of life. • You might recognise this song from The Lion King. • We are going to practise the words as best we can.

Day 5 – Music. • Practice what you have learned so far. • Remember to sing well, you should stand up straight with your hands held in front of you. Perform it yourself and ask if you can perform it in front of your family.
